Rebecca Wilkinson
Rebecca Wilkinson is the 3D Studio Visual Arts & Advanced Placement educator at Wells APAC, where she uses a variety of materials including ceramics, cardboard, metals, recycled materials, and anything else we can manipulate in an expressive way. She completed her undergraduate studies at Belhaven College. Rebecca Wilkinson is a National Board Certified Teacher with more than 25 years experience teaching visual art to children. She holds a master's degree in art therapy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her art therapy background and work in children's mental health as well with special needs populations are influential in her approach to art education. Ms Wilkinson served as the co-chair for the 2017 Mississippi College and Career-Readiness Standards for the Visual Arts Steering Committee. She is an active member of the Mississippi Arts Education Association, where she is President-Elect. She serves on the Friends of the IBC board and leads the city dance visual art program. She is a past member of the Mississippi Artist Roster for the Mississippi Arts Commission. Ms Wilkinson enjoys working in collage and mixed media and is currently learning to needle-felt. In her free time she enjoys playing violin and singing with St. Brigid's and playing Mah Jong with friends.
