    PURPOSE
    The purpose of the Jackson Public School District Office of Counseling Services is to educate the whole student socially, emotionally and academically in preparation of being college and career ready graduates prepared to succeed in a global society.

    VISION
    The vision of the Jackson Public School District Office of Counseling Services is to become a distinguished comprehensive counseling program aligned with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) standards.

    MISSION
    The mission of Jackson Public School District Office of Counseling Services is to provide a proactive comprehensive counseling program that addresses students’ academic, social and emotional development. This will be accomplished through partnerships with all stakeholders to enable all students to become productive citizens and lifelong learners. 


    OFFICE OF COUNSELING SERVICE GOALS

    • ACADEMICS:
      • To provide resources that will aid in increasing the graduation rate to 80% by the year 2021.
    • ATTENDANCE:
      • To communicate with stakeholders to develop and implement a plan that will support student’s attendance leading to a 95% district-wide Average Daily Attendance (ADA).

      • To utilize researched-based practices to decrease the number of Office Discipline Referrals (ODR) by 10% district-wide.

    Marion Counseling Services is the exclusive on-site provider of mental health services and case management for the Jackson Public School District. 

    Students can be referred by family, Teachers or administration
