An Alumnus of Lanier, the graduating Class of 2001, Mrs. Barron has dedicated her time to providing music education and mentorship to the students of Lanier for 10 Years. Upon graduating from Lanier, Mrs. Barron began her journey for her Bachelor's in Music from Alcorn State University School of Music. While at Alcorn she would lead the Alcorn State University Chorus as a soloist and return to give concerts as one of Alcorn's successful singers. She later gained the opportunity to study abroad in Graz Austria. While in Austria, Mrs. Barron studied Music Performance at the American Institution of Musicals Studies (AIMS).  She would also lead the chorus and sing for stakeholders at Austrian Castles. After completing her studies in Austria, Mrs. Barron would gain her Masters in Music from the University of Mississippi. While at UM, she would lead the Opera Theatre department in producing and performing Opera Theater productions and assisting with sewing and creating costumes for several opera programs. Mrs. Barron would go on to perform for MS Opera, Natchez Opera, Jackson Choral Society and compete at the Metropolitan Opera and NEA. Mrs. Barron is a member of Sigma Alpha Iota Fraternity, Mississippi Music Educators Association, and American Choral Directors Association. She currently serves as the Webmaster and teach AP Music Theory, Dual Credit, Music Appreciation, Voice, Choir Classes at Lanier. The Lanier Singers, under her direction has gain an excellent tradition in Superior Rated singing. Many of her students have gone on to achieve perfessional singing careers, in classical and popular music. She is the loving wife to John Barron and 4 handsome boys. She believes "if you care for your students, then your students will care for their future".
